Mary Ann has more than 14 years of clinical experience working in public health in acute, subacute, community and primary care settings. She was sponsored by Tan Tock Seng Hospital for her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at University of Sydney, Australia, and King’s College London, UK, respectively. She holds a Master’s degree in Gerontology (with Merit).
Mary started her physiotherapy career at Tan Tock Seng Hospital where she completed all her postings, spending most of her time working with seniors with geriatric syndromes and neurological conditions. She moved to National Healthcare Group Polyclinics in 2020 where she further honed her skills in managing musculoskeletal pain, completing training in Spinal Manual Therapy and Clinical Pilates.
Mary is passionate about education and has conducted multiple workshops, lectures and practicums on geriatric topics with healthcare professionals across all disciplines. Mary completed the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) to improve her training effectiveness. She is a clinical educator and an associate faculty member with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) Physiotherapy course and guest lecturer for Nanyang Polytechnic’s Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Gerontology & Community Health).
Mary is also a proud mother of two beautiful children, who keep her busy but have taught her important life skills such as practising multi-tasking and mindfulness. In her free time, Mary enjoys meeting up with friends, going for long walks, practising Pilates and playing her keyboard or ukulele.
