Vanessa is a Musculoskeletal physiotherapist who has more than 12 years experience from the private and public acute hospital settings. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Birmingham, UK, before gaining diverse clinical experience across different clinical settings. She then went on to pursue a postgraduate Master's in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Curtin University, Australia, further refining her expertise in this field.
Having spent the last 9 years with Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Vanessa has had the oppurtunity to work closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons to provide post-operative rehabilitation for patients recovering from adult joint replacement, spinal surgeries, sports-related surgeries, and trauma-related surgeries. She also developed wide experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries of the spine and limbs, with a special interest in managing patients presenting with neck-related dizziness.
Vanessa's career further evolved with her role as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in Tan Tock Seng Hospital's Emergency Department. In this capacity, she is at the frontline of triaging and diagnosing patients with acute musculoskeletal pain, offering a unique opportunity to provide immediate, holistic, and evidence-based treatment to patients in need.
In addition to her clinical work, Vanessa is a passionate educator who enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with peers and students alike. She has conducted multiple workshops for physiotherapists in the area if musculoskeletal care and plays an active role in the development and mentorship of junior physiotherapists within her workplace, fostering clinical growth and continuous improvement across the profession.
